Liz Webber '16 of The Rivers School Named NSCAA All-American

The Rivers girls’ soccer team has experienced extraordinary success over the past few seasons, thanks in large part to the Red Wings play on defense. Coaches both in the ISL and across the country have taken notice of one particular cog in the Rivers machine, honoring Liz Webber ’16 with both the 2014 ISL Defensive Player of the Year award and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-American recognition.

Liz follows in the footsteps of Maclaine Lehan ’14 who earned both honors in 2013 after winning the ISL’s award in 2012. Liz becomes the second All-American to play for coach Susanna Donahue.

Playing in the center of the Red Wings defense, Liz led a unit that allowed just five goals all season and reached the NEPSAC Class B semifinals. In addition to her defensive duties, Liz scored six goals and added five assists for a total of 17 points.
