Former Thayer Hockey Player Wins Hobey Baker Award

Former Thayer hockey player and Braintree native Adam Gaudette recently won the Hobey Baker Award. The award is given annually to the top Division I men’s ice hockey player. Adam played for Northeastern University for three years and now plays in the NHL for the Vancouver Canucks. This season, while playing for Northeastern, Adam led the NCAA with 30 goals and 60 points, averaging 1.6 points per game, which was top in the country. Adam is the second Hobey Baker award winner from Thayer, Mike Mottau ’96 won the award in 2000 while playing for Boston College.
